THE POOL DECK
Offering sweeping views out over the African bush in front of the ridge on which it is built, Baobab Ridge's pool deck is the perfect place for serious relaxation in between game activities and meals!
Overlooking a permanent waterhole that attracts a wide variety of wildlife species throughout the day (and night) - there's always something going on at the pool deck, so be sure to have your binoculars and camera to hand when spending time here.
Our fabulous loungers on the upper deck have been custom made to encourage you to grab 40 winks with their plump, oversized cushions making them the perfect place for secret siestas!
A water station and pool towels are located in a vibrantly decorated nook behind a beautiful Zanzibari door, meaning that you always have some nice, ice-cold refreshments at your fingertips. The refreshing plunge pool is another great way to cool off!
Curl up with a good book on our sassy red couches, or enjoy a lively conversation with a bottle of one of South Africa's fine wines. Or just sit back and lose yourself in the amazing view, losing all track of time as you do so...
DÉCOR & DESIGN
No matter where you go at Baobab Ridge you'll spot amazing vignettes of quite stunning African art and decorative expressions of the continent's diverse tribal heritage. From intricate shell necklaces used as wall hangings and collections of colourful blue and green powder glass beads to breathtaking antique Zanzibari doors that add a decidedly Arabian zing to the eclectic mix of influences on display, there's something to feast your eyes upon at every turn.
The rich organic design of the natural wood furnishings, both in the guest suites, on the beautiful pool deck and throughout the main lodge building, is inspired by the wilderness that surrounds the lodge, with lots of effort made to bring the outside inside!
Topping it all off are the wonderful photographs which have become art in their own right, from the simply breathtaking portrait that dominates the pool deck nook to the family snaps and wildlife shots that feature on the walls of the reception, library and lounge areas.
